Year 6 - The Houses of Parliament virtual learning experience

On Monday, Great Waldingfield Primary School engaged in a virtual learning experience from The Houses of Parliament. It was an amazing experience for the children, who learned about The House of Commons, The House of Lords and how the laws in the United Kingdom are made. To top it all off, Elders Class had a surprise Q and A with James Cartlidge, our MP.

Mr Sandford said that all the children had gained so much from the experience and that it is vital that today’s children are as politically aware as possible. The session fitted in well with the ‘British Values’ (democracy, rule of law, respect and tolerance and individual liberty), which we are embedding across the school. The learning provided by parliament was first class and the children had a fabulous experience. We hope to engage further with them in the future.
