Sports Premium

 

 

What is Sports Premium?

 

The Sports Premium is funding that the Government has provided to all schools in the United Kingdom to further improve the outcomes of sport in Primary Schools.   Schools must use the funding to make additional and sustainable improvements to the quality of PE and sport they offer. This may include:

 

  • qualified sports coaches working with teachers
  • providing higher level training for class teachers
  • purchasing resources to enable PE to be taught effectively
  • support and involve the least active children by running school sports clubs
  • signposting and funding the least active children to holiday clubs and Change4Life clubs (or similar)
  • hosting sport competitions or increase pupils’ participation in the School Games
  • hosting sports activities with other schools.
